CARLSBAD, N.M. - A Carlsbad teen is now behind bars for murder.

18-year-old Anthony Duran was arrested on Friday after an investigation revealed that he had shot and killed a man.

It happened about two weeks ago.

Witnesses say that the two men were arguing about an unfair exchange of narcotics around 2 a.m. in a trailer home in the 200 block of West Fiesta Drive.

Later that night, Duran approached the man with a gun as he was leaving the trailer and shot him three times.

Duran is currently being held in the Eddy County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
