ODESSA - L.C. Davis, Jr., the suspect in connection with a murder that happened on Christmas Eve in Odessa, has been apprehended by authorities after a high speed chase.

According to Odessa Police, they responded to a report of a stolen Chevrolet Impala at the Spanish Oaks Apartments on 10th Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

By 11 a.m., Midland Police were assisting in the search for Davis when they received notice of a suspicious vehicle that was repeatedly driving around the block of a residence in east Midland.

A Midland Police officer stopped the silver 2010 Chevrolet four-door near the intersection of Front Street and Orchard Lane. The officer asked Davis to place both hands outside of the vehicle but Davis drove off and that's when the chase started.

Midland Police deployed spike strips at Interstate 20 and Loop 250, flattening the front tire on Davis' vehicle. The suspect then continued to drive until he stopped at the intersection of 4th Street and Adams Avenue in Odessa.

Odessa Police then took Davis into custody without incident and a handgun was found.

Numerous law enforcement agencies including the Ector County Sheriff's Office, Midland Police Department, Odessa Police, U.S. Marshals and DPS were involved with the pursuit.
