Two Hobbs Men Facing Aggravated Assault, Theft Charges

HOBBS, N.M. - Two men in Hobbs have been arrested, not only for being thieves, but also trying to run down a man in a parking lot.

On Sunday, police got a call telling them Tracy Carpenter and Thomas Arnett was trying to run people over in a parking lot.

There they found a man holding rocks and sticks saying he was trying to protect himself after Arnett tried to back over him at least twice.

He said the two men were trying to steal items from his auto shop.

They were caught with equipment they claimed to have purchased from someone else.

Carpenter and Arnett were taken to jail and charged with aggravated assault and theft.
