A new port of entry into Mexico could be opening in the Big Bend National Park.
The crossing would provide access to Boquillas, Coahuila as well as other protected areas in Mexico.
The opening will fill a void of a long stretch of border between Presidio and Del Rio.
Homeland security made the final ruling to open up the gateway but not before they did extensive research and consulted with Mexican officials.
Pedestrians will be able to use the port from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
No vehicles will be allowed to cross.
