HOWARD COUNTY - Oil and gas companies are being asked to help fix the roads in Howard County.

County Commissioners made the request official on Friday with a resolution.

They say oil and gas trucks have ripped up county roads.

They are asking companies to get a permit before they drill.

Depending on the well, the fee will be $7,500 or $20,000.

The county also wants them to shell out a $4,500 fee if they use county roads to access private roads.

These are only requests and it is not mandatory.
