The West Texas Food Bank got a big Christmas gift on Friday morning.

They received a check for $15,000 from BHP Billiton Petroleum.

The company gave the donation to provide support for the Food Bank's partner in Reeves County.

Rodney Hall, Director of Development, explained how far this money will be able to go for needy families.

"Just to put it in perspective, with that $15,000, think about this, every one dollar equals four meals for those clients over there. So that's a tremendous gift that's been given," Hall said.

Hall went on to say that the funds given to the Reeves County partner would be able to last them for a while.
