Interstate 20 Reopened After Big Rig Hits Overpass in Midland

MIDLAND - A part of Interstate 20 is back open after a crash on Friday afternoon put the brakes on holiday travel.

It started when a big rig, hauling a crane hit the West Loop 250 overpass.

It was too tall to clear and debris from the bridge came falling down.

That caused traffic in the eastbound lane to back up for miles and that was just the beginning.

The snarled traffic led to eight more accidents.

We're told no one was hurt.

State Troopers tell NewsWest 9, the bridge was severely damaged.
