MIDLAND - Two Midland teens are now facing aggravated assault charges for a race that got out of control back in October.

Police say 17-year-old Brandon Muniz and 17-year-old Julian Oviedo, Jr, were driving two pickup trucks south on Garfield at 80 miles per hour.

Both teens lost control of their trucks and started sliding.

Police say Oviedo's truck ended up hitting another car, the two people in it were badly hurt.

Both boys were arrested on Monday and could end up in prison for up to 20 years if convicted.
