A jury trial resumed on Wednesday for a Hobbs teenager accused of murdering an elderly woman last year.
Police say 17-year-old Juan Rivas broke into the home of 83-year-old Clara Alvarez and stabbed her to death.
The district attorney said Rivas took her jewelry and car and then spent the next several days partying and using drugs at the victim's home.
The District Attorney says Rivas confessed that he stabbed Alvarez because he was trying to get his anger out and was laughing the whole time.
