Midland ISD in Need of More Substitute Teachers

MIDLAND - Here's another growing pain for the Tall City, there's not enough substitute teachers.

So who's in charge of your students class when the teacher calls in?

The District tells NewsWest 9, a lot of times they scramble to get other teachers, coaches and aides to cover the class even if it's for just one class period.

If not, they have to start combining classes, which is their last resort.

Substitute teachers can make anywhere between $80 to $100 a day plus an extra $10 dollars if they work Friday's.
