Nonprofit’s participation in the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon enables mobile donations to Kenyan Orphanage, rewards donors.
Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) December 11, 2012
This holiday season, Many Hopes, a nonprofit that invests in sustainable community development on behalf of the most vulnerable children in Kenya, is enabling mobile donations and rewarding donors. All donors who give via text or online donation form will immediately be rewarded with a personalized, digitally autographed photo from the Many Hopes’ spokesperson of their choosing: supermodel, Jessica Stam or Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl. Donors can text message either STAM or SZOHR to 80100 to give a $10 donation, or they can give through the mobile web-based donation form. This mobile, celebrity-endorsed campaign has been made possible by the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon, an initiative created from a partnership among industry leaders in cause-related technology: Digigraph.me, mGood and UR Mobile.
The goal of Many Hopes is to raise children who will lead with justice and fairness and defeat the causes of extreme poverty in Kenya. To do this, Many Hopes has created a soon-to-be self-sustained home for orphans who have endured the worst of poverty and exploitation. Going beyond mere housing of the children, Many Hopes also provides a loving home environment, education and help in developing crucial life skills that will enable them to overcome the root causes of poverty and injustice in their environment and to lead others to do the same. 100 percent of donations go directly to mission.
More than 60 percent of Many Hopes’ work is funded by small investments from individuals. “In order to reach our broad group of supporters, we needed a mobile solution, and through the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon, we are now able to effectively leverage mobile, as well as our celebrity spokespeople’s influence, to make donations easy and to thank donors in a personalized way,” explained Thomas Keown, Founder, Many Hopes. “By participating in the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon, all of the up-front fees that would normally be required were waived, and our mobile web solution was implemented rapidly, enabling us to launch this major holiday campaign as efficiently and quickly as possible.”
The Mobile Mistletoe Marathon was launched as a joint effort by Digigraph.me, mGood and UR Mobile. The initiative from the three partners was established to help celebrity-related charities reach a combined goal of $10 Million or more this holiday season. During the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon, the partners are waiving fees and fast-tracking integrations to make it easier for nonprofits to participate and leverage mobile solutions to increase donations during the primetime giving season. The initiative blends the creativity of and innovations from the three companies, including personalized celebrity connections, text giving and mobile web donations. “We are thrilled to join with Digigraph.me and mGood to help Many Hopes raise donations for their worthy cause. During the Mobile Mistletoe Marathon, we look forward to helping more nonprofits enable mobile giving campaigns that make mobile donations easy and reward their donors with personalized, share-worthy “thank you’s” from their celebrity spokespeople,” said Melissa Vincent, VP Business Development, UR Mobile.
