Teenager Steals Parent's Dump Truck

By Staff Report

NewsWest 9

DPS officials tell us a14-year-old stole his parent's dump truck in Crane; then led officers on a chase all the way into Ector County.

At one point officers had to resort to shooting out one of the tires to get the boy to stop.

Fortunately, he wasn't going at a high speed and never crashed. He was stopped and caught at Wilson's Corner on the 3200 block of Kermit highway.

The teenager's parents did not press charges and the boy was released to them and as a precaution he was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

His mother spoke with Newswest 9 at the scene and says he had just started a new medication and that it wasn't like him.
