Andrews Man Arrested For Child Porn

Andrews - A disturbing case in Andrews involving child pornography. After secretly watching a man for a week agents busted him on charges of sending it over the Internet. Homeland Security took Francisco Cantu into custody today.

The investigation by Homeland Security began on November 20th.

According to the arrest affidavit...an H-S-I- special agent became aware of an individual uploading four files containing child pornography. According to the agent they were able to determine where the individual lived using the Internet protocol address.

On November 21st, the H-S-I assisted by U.S. Marshal's and Andrews Police officers executed a warrant.

They discovered that the homeowner had shared the W-E-P key along with his user name and password with his neighbor identified as Francisco Jose Cantu.

On November 28th a search warrant was obtained to search Cantu's apartment after which both he and his roommate were taken to the Andrews Police Department.

While looking at his laptop agents discovered numerous images depicting sexual exploitation of children all under Cantu's nickname "Cisco."

Today Cantu gave a statement to the agents in it, he admitted that he began looking at child porn about two years ago; first just out of curiosity, but later Cantu said he became enticed and aroused by the images.

He told officers that he uploaded pictures of child porn that he had received from others.

He also admitted his preference for girls ten years and older. Although he admitted to liking child porn, Cantu said he never acted on any sexual impulses toward anyone else.

Cantu stated he is guilty and he had made a big mistake and now he should be punished for it.

If Cantu is convicted he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of 250-thousand dollars.
