New information has been released regarding the mountain lion attack that happened at the Big Bend National Park on Friday.
The National Park Service has identified the female hiker who was attacked as Andrea Pinero Cebrian.
The woman and her friends were exploring the Mesa de Anguila near Lajitas when she was attacked.
Cebrian was bleeding from wounds on her head but she was treated by Terlingua medics.
Her injuries were not considered life threatening.
The Mesa de Anguila has been closed to all visitors while rangers and park biologists look for the mountain lion.
