MIDLAND - We want to get you an update on a story that NewsWest 9 ran on Tuesday about the U.S. Army teaming up with a non-profit to provide thanksgiving meals to families in the Basin.
Staff Sergeant Chad Grissom tells NewsWest 9, they were able to fill over 32 boxes with more than 1,500 pounds of food.
That will feed over 200 families.
They were stationed outside of the Midland Wal-Mart for two days collecting the canned goods for the Jubilee Center of Midland.
The outreach center feeds more than 200 families over the holidays.
Last year, they collected over 900 pounds of food.
