ANDREWS - A state-of-the art healthcare center is in the making in Andrews.
The Permian Regional Medical Center broke ground on Tuesday for their brand new hospital.
They'll be knocking down the current hospital in phases and constructing the new facility.
Andrews Family Medicine will also be knocked down.
The 50-year-old hospital has been experiencing leaks and maintenance problems.
The Chief Executive Officer tells NewsWest 9 that with our current booming economy, now is the perfect time to start building.
Construction is expected to begin next year and will take about three and a half years to complete.
