MIDLAND - A woman is dead after a crash in Midland on Friday night.
The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Lamesa and Walnut.
According to police, 46-year-old Alfred Rice was driving north on Lamesa at an extremely high speed when he ran a stop sign and T-boned a car.
Rice's passenger, 44-year-old Benita Harmon, was killed.
The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The woman who died was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Police say alcohol and speed contributed to the wreck.
Rice was arrested.
