One of the soldiers involved in Thursday's crash is now speaking out to NewsWest 9.
Sergeant Shane Ladner spent 15 years in the army as a military police officer and with the Georgia National Guard.
He sent out the following statement on Saturday, "I want to thank the people of midland and the people of this great country for their prayers and support. I also want to thank the Show of Support organization for honoring us and everything they have done for us and our families. We appreciate the doctors and staff at Midland Memorial Hospital for providing excellent care."
Ladner took shrapnel from a grenade during a firefight in Panama City and currently works as a police officer in Holly Springs, Georgia.
He has been married to his wife, Meg, for nine years.
