ECISD Press Release
A nine year old student at Goliad Elementary brought a gun to school in his backpack this morning. Other students reported it to school officials who immediately secured the weapon and minimized the danger at the school.
Because the child is so young, no criminal charges can be filed but ECISD officials will discipline the student according to the Student Code of Conduct. Though the investigation is still in its early stages, ECISD Police are looking into reports that the student fired the gun prior to arriving at school and will conduct a full investigation into how the boy got the gun.
