HOBBS, N.M. - Be careful who you leave your child with, that's what a Hobbs mother is learning the hard way after she found her baby beaten and bruised.
The mother says she let 25-year-old James Cabarrubio take her 17-month-old son to the store for 10 minutes.
The next morning, she found bruises all over the baby's body.
The child's forehead was swollen, lip was busted and bruises and scrapes covered the child's face and head.
Officers say the mother finally took the baby to the hospital that evening.
Cabarrubio was charged with child abuse.
