Hobbs Man Behind Bars on Charges He Hit His Daughter

HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs man is locked up on charges he hit his daughter then beat up her mother.

According to the affidavit, Patrick Smith punched the girl's mother and was so out of control that he had to be restrained by two people.

But he broke away, charged at the mother, and hit his daughter as he was trying to get to the mom.

When the woman tried to leave, she claims smith jumped on the hood of her car and broke the windshield with his foot.

The little girl told Police that her dad had hit her, hit her mother twice and hit her aunt twice.

The mother told police smith has been violent before hitting her on several occasions and one time while she had the little girl on her lap.
