ECTOR COUNTY - A driver in a stolen truck taunted Ector County deputies before leading them on a high speed chase.

Deputies were looking for a white Ford F-350 that was stolen from a hotel parking lot on the east side of town.

Deputies spotted the truck on Highway 191 and Eastridge and followed the truck on to the loop and tried to pull it over.

Here's the crazy part: we're told the driver Scott Shade turned into the Wal-Mart parking lot, rolled down his window and yelled that the truck was not stolen then took off

That's when the chase began all the way to the 3700 block of Springbrook where the driver eventually jumped out and ran.

Two women passengers in the truck were detained.

Shade was found hiding under a bush in the backyard of his girlfriend's house.

We're told he still tried to fight them off so he had to be pepper sprayed before they could cuff him.
