HOBBS, N.M. - More homes are moving into the Hobbs area.
The Silver Court Townhome Subdivision is on track to break ground this December.
The Hobbs Planning Board approved the master plan just last week.
The Las Cruces developer says he decided to build in Hobbs because there was such a need for affordable housing.
Each rental will cost about $1,200 a month which is below current market rates in Hobbs.
The homes will also give incentives to teachers and first responders since there also a shortage of those in the city.
The subdivision should be opening in the next year.
