Reporter
Josh Navarro joined the NewsWest 9 team in August of 2012 and is currently a general assignment reporter.
Josh is no stranger to Texas, he comes from South Texas where he reported on the ever increasing border violence at KVEO. Some of the stories he covered were human and drug trafficking, border technology and protection, along with spill over violence caused by the Mexican drug cartels.
Before heading to Texas, Josh worked the midnight oil at KION Central Coast News in Salinas, California as a morning producer. He headed the biggest morning team in the market covering constant breaking news that included gang shootings to the wicked wildfires that the Golden State is known for. Josh also served as a Traffic Reporter during those morning broadcasts and contributed to the station's Spanish newscast, Telemundo 23.
Prior to his move out west, he worked as a morning producer at WTXL and before that at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida.
He is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Political Science. During his free time he enjoys eating out and working out. He's excited to call the Permian Basin his new home and always looking for a hot story to share.
