ODESSA - New information on a wild chase in Odessa that started from the Chili's parking lot and it all involved drug dealing.

Drug Enforcement Agency officials tell NewsWest 9, Reyes Vasquez and Mario Moreno are suspected of delivering nine ounces of cocaine.

They are currently being held in Midland.

On Thursday night, an off-duty officer was alerted about a man with an assault rifle in a northeast parking lot of Chili's in Odessa.

That officer tipped off the D.E.A. who went to check things out.

It's unclear what happened from there but a foot race eventually started between D.E.A. agents and Vasquez and Moreno and one of them had a gun.

One of the men was caught in the chili's parking lot on 42nd Street and the other got away.

A DPS chopper as well as a K-9 unit were called in to search for the man.

The second man was later caught in a field northeast of Odessa.

We're told the people who were inside Chili's at the time were kept inside for a while.
