MIDLAND - Pink The Basin wants local women to take care of their chest by getting their breasts checked out.

The organization held a luncheon on Tuesday afternoon that gathered over 1,200 women together at the Midland Horseshoe Arena.

The event focused on celebrating women that beat breast cancer but also raising funds for women that can't afford mammograms.

"I urge all women because this is a fabulous opportunity to dodge a bullet and even if you have had a mammogram, you can go to your sister, your mother, or your daughter and urge them to make that appointment and follow through with the testing," Pink The Basin President, Margaret Jones, said.

The group is holding several fundraiser's throughout this month to help pay for the checkups.

This Saturday, a skeet shoot will be held at Jake's Clays.

There's still time to sign up.
