MIDLAND - The decision to allow drilling requests near Midland neighborhoods has been put off for now.

On Tuesday, the Midland City Council decided to delay the decision until next month.

RSP Permian wants to drill five oil and gas wells inside the city limits but nearby neighbors say the drilling would bring too much noise and traffic.

Last month, the City Council held a public hearing on the issue that turned heated.

The Council will defer the permit decision until November 13.
