ODESSA - A jury in Odessa awarded a man $11 million after he was hit by a pipe casing that fell from an oilfield elevator.

Elizaar Trevino sued M&M Elevator Company after the 2009 accident.

The casing ripped out nerves from his shoulder and neck.

Trevino's lawyers claimed the elevator didn't work properly.

M&M's attorneys had argued that oilfield workers didn't latch the elevator and questioned why Trevino was under the elevator in the first place.
