MIDLAND - The Midland City Council will consider putting off a decision on a controversial drilling request this week.

RSP Permian is asking to be allowed to drill five oil and gas wells inside city limits.

Residents in the area aren't too happy about it.

They say the drilling would bring too much noise and traffic.

Last month, the City Council held a heated public hearing with homeowners.

At Tuesday's meeting, they'll talk about delaying a decision on the issue until a later date.
