Minor Leads Authorities on Short Pursuit in Stolen Vehicle

ECTOR COUNTY - A joyride in a stolen car lands a group of teens in the hospital and the driver in custody.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, the juveniles sped past a deputy on Saturday afternoon in West Odessa.

The group then led the deputy on a short-lived chase that ended when the car crashed near the area of Tripp and Dunn Street.

It turns out the car was stolen the night before in West Odessa.

A 13-year-old boy was behind the wheel and he had three minors in the car with him at the time of the accident.

Two of the passengers were taken to medical center hospital in unknown conditions.

The third passenger was taken home by his parents.

The teen driver was charged with felony evading in a vehicle, with injuries.

He was taken to the Ector County Youth Center.
