MIDLAND - New information on a big rig accident that happened on Saturday afternoon in Midland.
The accident happened off Interstate 20 and Loop 250.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, the 18-wheeler was turning onto the service road from Loop 250 when it had a blowout.
The weight of the vehicle shifted causing the truck to flip on its side.
A small fire ignited in the battery box but a nearby officer was able to extinguish the flames.
The driver and a dog that was with him walked away with only minor injuries.
The crash spilled some fuel on the road but another tanker was brought in to safely remove 7,000 gallons of diesel fuel from the truck.
It took crews about four hours to do that before the scene was cleaned up.
