ODESSA - An Odessa man was killed early Saturday morning after an accident involving a motorcycle, a horse and another vehicle.

It happened just before midnight near the intersection of University and Damascus.

DPS officials say 49-year-old Richard Griffin was heading east on University when he struck a horse in the roadway.

The impact threw Griffin from the bike and into the westbound lane.

He was then hit by a 2007 Mack truck that was towing a trailer.

Griffin died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
