EAST TEXAS - We're learning more about the condition of a Midland bull fighter that was seriously hurt in an East Texas arena.

Cody Hollums has been in a coma for the past 11 days but now doctors have decided to put him in an induced medical coma.

This action would hopefully help his brain recover.

He could be in this condition for up to a few days or a few weeks.

On October sixth, a rider was thrown off a bull in Lufkin and Cody jumped in to distract the bull.

The animal spun around, knocking Cody to the ground and then kicked him in the head.

Cody was taken to a Lufkin hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Tyler.
