ODESSA - It looks like an Odessa man tried to cover up his crime by burning it.
Deputies tell NewsWest 9, 28-year-old Robert Pasquale was caught burning spools of copper in a pit in Howard County.
Turns out, investigators say it was stolen, along with other oilfield equipment from Ector County.
From oilfield valves to spools of copper and aluminum, we're told the stolen items were worth more than $40,000.
Deputies also found meth.
Pasquale is charged with possession of a controlled substance and theft.
