ODESSA - An Odessa officer is no longer with the force after someone claimed that he attacked his own family member.

Mark Anthony Luna was arrested on Thursday for family violence-assault.

Police had got a tip that one of their own had assaulted someone.

After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued.

Luna not only turned himself in on Thursday but he also resigned and turned over his badge,

The case has been turned over to the county attorney's office.

In 2007, he was hired as an animal control officer and three years later was promoted to a police officer.
