ODESSA - Ector County schools are counting on the upcoming bond election to ease overcrowding.
But if the bond fails, they still have a backup plan.
According to the District, for the last two years they have been setting aside unused general funds.
In fact, more than $9 million has been placed in an account called New Elementary Project Fund.
But again, this is just a backup plan.
That $9 million won't come near covering everything that needs to be done.
If the bond goes through, the district is hoping to build three new elementary schools, move into a middle school system and make room at the high schools for freshman students.
