HOBBS, N.M. - A fugitive landed himself behind bars in Lea County for mugging a woman in a bathroom at a Hobbs casino.
Police say 38-year-old Allen Compton took money from a woman while she was in the women's restroom at Zia Park and Black Gold Casino.
The woman said she was in the stall when Compton opened the door and took money from her hand, which was about $200.
About three days later, he led police on a chase throughout Hobbs while driving a U-Haul.
Eventually he crashed the U-Haul and ran off but was caught in a field.
Compton is being held without bond.
He's also a wanted man in California and is a kidnapping suspect in Amarillo.
