ODESSA - An Odessa man who's running for Mayor has been forced to take down his campaign signs.

All because he didn't include who paid for them.

Mayoral Candidate Mark Ritter failed to put a very important disclosure statement at the bottom of the sign.

Texas Election Code requires all political advertisements to have the full name of the person who paid for it or the political committee who authorized the ad.

The penalty for not having that information could set Ritter back $4,000.

As long as he shows that he's trying to take down the signs and fix them, it isn't considered a continuing violation.

Ritter faces David Turner in the November election.
