MIDLAND - A scary and chaotic day for Midland ISD. Coleman High School was put on lockdown after a student was threatened via text message.
The student got a text from an adult and according to Superintendent Doctor Ryder Warren, they decided to lockdown Coleman.
Also because the student also had classes at the Advanced Technology Center, MISD and Midland College decided to put the A.T.C. on lockdown as well.
The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon but security remained tight on both campuses.
Earlier in the day, we were told that Midland High School was on lockdown but that turned out to be a life skills student who went missing for a while but was found a short while later.
The Advanced Technology Center will reopen today at 5 p.m. and as a precaution, the only access to the ATC will be through the main front doors for the remainder of the week.
