ODESSA - Another Odessa elementary school has become the victim of overcrowding.

The Ector County Independent School District announced on Monday that Barbara Jordan Elementary will no longer be accepting new students.

With 945 kids, the cafeteria and gym are well beyond capacity and school officials say it's beginning to have a negative impact on the daily operations of the campus.

New students will now be sent to Ireland Elementary.

Earlier in the school year, both Cavazos and Murry Fly Elementaries were also closed because of high enrollment.
