HOBBS, N.M. - The city of Hobbs will be saying goodbye to a judge who's been on the bench for nearly two years.
Magistrate Judge Barry Peters submitted his letter of resignation earlier this month.
His last day is Friday.
He told the Hobbs-News Sun he was leaving to pursue other interests.
His term doesn't expire until 2014 which means a replacement judge will be appointed by the Governor to finish out his term.
