ODESSA - The Ector County School District is waiving tuition fees for out of district students.
With all the new money flowing into Odessa, the district was recently designated as Chapter 41 meaning they are a rich district.
Once you become a rich district, you're required to start giving money back to that state for other districts.
It's part of the Robin Hood Act.
In an effort to keep some of that money here, ECISD is now waiving tuition fees.
Adkins says the money that is kept here locally is more than the tuition that is collected from the out-of-district students.
