HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs woman is dead after a hit and run accident on Monday night.

38-year-old Dawn Gwynne was riding with 38 year-old Donald Plumlee.

They had just hit a motorcycle, fled and were running from the cops.

That's when he ran a stop sign at an intersection and collided with a pickup truck carrying Leonard and Margarita Botello.

Plumlee's vehicle then hit another car driven by 43-year-old John Flanigan.

The people in the pick-up truck were not injured.

But Plumlee, his passenger, Dawn Gwynne, and the other driver, John Flanigan, were transported to the hospital then airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock.

Plumlee and Flanigan were treated and later released, however, Gwynne died on Wednesday.

Speed, drivers intention and failing to yield to a police vehicle are all contributing factors in the fatal crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
