EDDY COUNTY, N.M. - Biting off an officer's finger got an Eddy County inmate six more months behind bars.

That's on top of his sentence for criminal sexual contact with a minor.

29-year-old Adrian Dagnino, a Mexican National, was on trial this week when he got disruptive and the officer tried to get him under control.

It turned into a fight and Dagnino bit down on the officer's pinky and ripped it off.

The officer was taken to a Carlsbad Hospital but they couldn't reattach his finger.
