ALPINE - The Big Bend Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol had a ceremony to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

It happened in Alpine on Tuesday morning on the grounds of the 9/11 Memorial.

The Honor Guard presented the colors, rendered Taps and laid wreaths.

The Memorial site includes a twisted beam from the World Trade Center which was brought to Alpine last year by agents who drove to New York City to pick it up.

The beam was donated by the port authority of New York and New Jersey.
