MIDLAND – A controversial item is on the agenda for Tuesday.

Council members will hold a public hearing about five drilling permit requests near a neighborhood.

The company, RSP Drilling is asking the city to give them the green light on drilling oil and gas wells south of Briarwood Avenue.

But neighbors are concerned the proposed sites are too close for comfort.

Council members approved two drilling permits for RSP Drilling near the same area earlier this year but rejected a third request saying the company needed to work with residents on the well site.

The meeting starts Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
