FORT DAVIS - The Fort Davis School District is moving into the 21st century with some new technology.
The district recently won a $50,000 grant which will go to 71 new laptops.
Junior high and high school students will be able to tote the computers in their backpacks and take them home.
It's part of an initiative to get technology not only in the classrooms but also into the home.
Economically disadvantaged students will be the first to get their hands on them.
The school was able to apply for the grant because more than 40 percent of their students are economically disadvantaged.
