ODESSA - $1.25 million, that's the bond for the man suspected of the double murder in Grandfalls.

31-year-old Rodney Crawford is charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault.

Crawford is still in the hospital in fair condition while being treated for a blow to the head.

But once he's cleared by doctors, he'll be taken to jail.

The shooting happened in a travel trailer here at a RV park just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When officers arrived they found the door open.

Inside they discovered the body of Crawford's ex-girlfriend, 31-year-old Christina Stafford of Grandfalls and 30-year-old Travis Dewitt of Royalty.

We're told Christina's eight year old daughter ran to a neighbor's house for help.

She was treated for a gunshot wound but was released.

Ward County Sheriff Michael Strickland tells NewsWest 9, Crawford is the son of a deputy and that's where he got the 45 caliber gun used in the murders.

The Texas Rangers are helping the sheriff's office in the investigation.
