BIG SPRING - There's a delay in opening up the historic Settles Hotel in Big Spring.
We're told it should be up and running by late October or early November.
The General Manager says construction is running a little behind.
Getting the 82-year-old building up to date, along with the recent rains, has put a kink in their schedule.
The developers hoped to have the building open by October first, the same day it opened 82 years ago.
The 65-room hotel is being renovated to be a top of the line service facility.
Developers are pouring in about $26 million into the upgrades.
Workers are also restoring some of the hotels original features to look like it did when it first opened.
Hotel and city officials are hoping it will bring in more tourists and business to Big Spring.
