HOBBS, N.M. - The City of Hobbs may need to start looking for a new Police Chief.

That's after their current Chief J.D. Sanders was put on paid leave last week.

We're told it involved something that happened with another officer at a public event.

City Manager J.J. Murphy wouldn't go into detail but he told NewsWest 9 that an investigation is ongoing and the future of the chief's job depends on what the investigation reveals.
